If they're still loud when set up by the go to guy, and presumably as best as possible as a result, that's bad news. My diff has finally gotten bad enough to bite the bullet and drop it for the 4.10s and Quaife that have been gathering dust for years. Did you have to get the crown wheel on the Quaife machined down to install the Leader gears? I did a test fit the other day and it sounds like mine never got the service despite being purchased well after that discovery.
